National Society of Hispanic MBAs: Night of Achievement

A message from our former GMA President, Miguel Llano:

GMA members and friends,

Many of you may know that I am a member of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA). The New York Chapter is holding a “Night of Achievement” for 2009 Graduates. I believe that if you are still in the area, this may be a great event for you to attend. I have personally been working on this event with the assistance of Iveth Reynolds, one of the panelist from the networking panel GMA had last fall. I know that there should be some recruiters from area business looking to meet some talented MBAs as well as opening comments from Mayor Duffy.

NSHMBA is a diversity organization and this event is open to all. For recent MBA grads this is a great opportunity to network and be recognized for your accomplishments. For 2nd year MBA students, this is a great chance to get some information on the NSHMBA national conference, which is the second largest MBA career fair in the US (nothing like RIT’s career fair).

Please register for this event using this link. http://newyork.nshmba.org/calendar.asp?id=4677

I hope you all can come out and join NSHMBA for this event.

Best regards,

Miguel A. Llano

Networking is Key for Saunders Graduate Students

GMA E-Board 2009While it can be argued that networking with others is important at all times,it is especially important during an economic recession, according to graduate students from the E. Philip Saunders College of Business at RIT who are members of the college’s Graduate Management Association (GMA).

The GMA, its students, and its activities were recently featured in an article in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle newspaper.

According to the article, “The group’s goal is to increase networking opportunities for students through involvement in outside networking groups, community service efforts, and club sponsored events. Participation in these events is not only for the purpose of increasing contacts in the Rochester business community, but also to create a more cohesive learning environment within the E. Philip Saunders College of Business.”
